ABOUT ME
My interest in strategic communications began during my undergraduate studies at William & Mary in Virginia, where I graduated with a double major in International Relations and Anthropology. During my time at university, I held several research and communications positions, including at the Global Research Institute, where I found a niche in translating complex research on international affairs into accessible content for external audiences.
Following graduation, I joined NASA's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) in an executive administrative and project coordination role. It was through producing weekly reports for senior leadership that I developed a particular interest in communicating complicated technical information clearly and concisely.
I subsequently joined the U.S. Department of State as a Communications Specialist with the Bureau of Diplomatic Security's Cybersecurity Awareness Program. In this role, I helped develop communications campaigns on emerging cybersecurity threats and policy priorities, translating technical information into engaging written and visual materials for audiences across the Department and its overseas posts. This experience strengthened my interest in strategic communications, particularly how organisations can make specialised information relevant and accessible to different audiences.
To build upon my professional experience, I pursued an MSc in Strategic Communications and Society at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Through interdisciplinary coursework and research, including a dissertation examining 1,105 commercial PR campaigns, I expanded my understanding of communications strategy, audience engagement and campaign evaluation.
I am now interested in strategic communications, public affairs and corporate communications opportunities, particularly within organisations working in technology, policy and international affairs. Across my experience, I have found that translating complex information into clear, purposeful communications is the aspect of the work I find most rewarding.

Cybersecurity Awareness
Communications Specialist
In November 2023, I joined the DCSM Peraton contract for the State Department's Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS). Specifically, I worked in the Directorate of Cyber and Technology Security (CTS) as a Communications Specialist on the Cybersecurity Awareness team. Comprised of myself and two other individuals, the Awareness team focused on translating technical cybersecurity information into accessible communications for audiences across the Department, including personnel at overseas posts.
I helped develop monthly communications campaigns on emerging cybersecurity topics, producing 20+ written and visual products per campaign. These materials were distributed through Department Notices, cables, newsletters, SharePoint and social media. I also coordinated input from technical subject-matter experts, supported the planning and execution of the Department's 2024 Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and evaluated campaign engagement through Salesforce CRM analytics.
Much of my work involved balancing technical accuracy with audience accessibility, while coordinating contributions from different offices to deliver clear and timely communications.

Executive Administrative Assistant
In July 2023, I joined Task Order 0245 for Total Solutions' direct support contract for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Specifically, I provided executive administrative and internal communications support for the Network and Telecommunications Services (NaTS) directorate within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).
Although primarily an administrative position, my role involved substantial writing, project coordination and executive reporting. I compiled weekly directorate reports for senior leadership, gathered updates from technical teams, and developed a directorate-wide task tracker to monitor assignments and deadlines. I also supported the planning of monthly all-hands meetings for more than 200 participants.
This experience strengthened my ability to synthesise complicated technical and operational information into concise reporting for leadership, while maintaining communication and coordination across different teams.

After a few years of working professionally as a communications specialist, I realized that I wanted to return to the classroom and study communications in a more formal setting in order to eventually transition to the strategy side of communications. After attending LSE summer school, I knew I enjoyed the school's emphasis on a global perspective in the classroom and the range of topics the courses explore. What made my program unique was its interdisciplinary approach to communications, which combined classes in behavior sciences, communications, and marketing to help explain what creates persuasive communication practices.

Non-Degree Seeking Candidate
Following my undergraduate graduation, I enrolled at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) to take graduate-level courses. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was unable to study abroad during my studies, and LSE offered a great program that allowed me to gain the cross-cultural educational exposure I couldn't achieve in undergrad, while also enabling me to take master's-level courses to determine if graduate school was the right fit for me. After taking a communications course and a law course, I realized that my educational interests lay more in communications and in using my international relations background to find the best way to relay information to audiences.

In May 2022, I completed my undergraduate degree at William & Mary in Virginia, graduating Cum Laude with majors in both International Relations and Anthropology, along with the completion of a pre-law track. I chose William & Mary for its smaller class sizes and widely recognized rigorous International Relations program, which required over 130 class credits across five different academic departments. While at William & Mary, I was involved in academic-related organizations such as the Global Research Institute, the International Relations Club, and the student-run group, The John Quincy Adams Society. I was also a member of the Undergraduate Honor Council for all four years and served on the Student Assembly Judiciary Review Board for two years. Dance was a significant aspect of my life at W&M, as I was a member of the Orchesis Modern Dance Company, a group affiliated with the Dance Department. Additionally, I taught dance at a local studio in the Williamsburg area.
Hobbies & Skills
ART
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I channeled a lot of my artistic expression into creating tangible art. I became really intrigued by collage-based art and combining popular paintings to create something new. I love that I can change the message of a picture simply by rearranging it. I think that is an aspect of communications work that fascinates me as well.
