ABOUT ME

I graduated Cum Laude from William & Mary in Virginia in 2022, with a bachelor's of Arts, with majors in International Relations and Anthropology. My primary research interests revolve around communications and the presentation of information in the digital realm. With the emergence of social media platforms, we have witnessed a rapid dissemination of misinformation and disinformation without proper fact-checking. Moreover, the national security landscape has been affected by the increased presence of terrorism on social media. I am particularly intrigued by how countries are currently exploring proactive measures in online counterterrorism efforts to address this emerging trend, and how it affects Diplomacy as a whole.
Since starting my Master's degree in Strategic Communications at the London School of Economics (LSE), this past September, I have also become interested in the way both the private and public sectors use nostalgia as a tool of persuasion. As we enter a new age of technological advancement and economic uncertainty, audiences seem to crave the familiarity that nostalgic rhetoric and signaling provides. I hope to explore these ideas more in my dissertation in 2026.
I previously worked at the US Department of State in their Diplomatic Security Bureau as a Communications Specialist for the DS/CTS Cyber Security Awareness team. In this role, I help produce campaigns for timely cyber topics, which are distributed to both Department and external audiences.

Education
September 2026 - Present
London School of Economics and Political Science
London, United Kingdom
MSc Strategic Communications & Society
After a few years working professionally as a communications specialist, I realized that I wanted to return to the classroom and study communications in a more formal setting in order to eventually move into working on the strategy side of communications messaging. After attending LSE's summer school, I knew I enjoyed the schools emphasis on the global perspective in the classroom and the range of topics the course offers explore.
June 2022- August 2022
London School of Economics and Political Science
London, United Kingdom
Non-Degree Seeking Candidate
Following my undergraduate graduation, I enrolled in the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), to take graduate level courses. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was unable to study abroad in undergrad and LSE provided a great program where I could get the cross-cultural educational exposure I couldn't get in undergrad and also allow me to take master's level courses, to see if Graduate school was the right fit for me. After taking a communications course and a law course, I realized that my educational interests lied more in communications and using my international relations background to figure out the best way to relay information to audiences.
September 2018 - May 2022
William & Mary
Williamsburg, VA
Bachelors of Arts
International Relations
Anthropology
In May 2022, I completed my undergraduate degree at William & Mary in Virginia, graduating Cum Laude with majors in both International Relations & Anthropology and a pre-law track completion. I chose William & Mary due to its smaller class sizes and widely-recognized rigorous International Relations program, which required over 130 class credits over 5 different academic departments. While at William & Mary I was involved with academic-related organizations such as the Global Research Institute, the International Relations club, and the student-run policy group 'The John Quincy Adams Society.' I also was a member of the Undergraduate Honor Council for all 4 years and the Student Assembly Judiciary Review Board for 2 years. Dance was also a major aspect of my life at W&M, as I was a member of Orchesis Modern Dance company, the Dance Department-affiliated group. I also taught dance at a local studio in the Williamsburg area.
Hobbies & Skills

ART
During the COVID-19 pandemic I channeled a lot of my artistic expression into creating tangible art. I really became intrigued with collage-based art and combining popular paintings to create something new. I love that I am able to change the message of a picture, just by rearranging it. I think that is an aspect of communications work that fascinates me as well.

Photography
In my free-time I shoot digital and film cameras. I always enjoy traveling to new places and capturing landscapes, people, and things from unique and unusual angles. There is so much beauty in the world and I love that photography offers a way for you to capture the world and turn it into art.
