I began my career after graduating Cum Laude from William & Mary in Virginia, with a bachelor's of Arts, with majors in International Relations and Anthropology. During my time at William & Mary, I held several internships and paid positions that involved communications, research, and international affairs. I found a niche in government-related communications, where I was able to use my International Relations background to help translate and promote university research for external audiences.

My first professional position was in the Office of the Chef Information Officer (OCIO) at National Aeronautics and Space Administrations (NASA) in a primarily administrative position.  It was in the weekly reports that I wrote for the NASA front office that I really cultivated my skills and interests for translating complicated information into digestible content.

Following my job at NASA, I worked at the US Department of State in their Diplomatic Security Bureau as a Communications Specialist for the DS/CTS Cyber Security Awareness team. In this role, I help produce communication campaigns for timely cyber topics, which are distributed to both Department and external audiences.

 

I realized in this position that I needed more on an academic background in communications if I wanted to continue progressing in my career. In the fall of 2025, I began my MSc Strategic Communications Masters program at LSE, which includes interdisciplinary courses in business management, behavior sciences, and sociology. As I complete my degree, I am starting to explore communications roles both in the private and public sector, with a focus on external communications and strategy. Specifically, I am interested in industries that traditionally require specialized knowledge, such as tech or defense, that require that 'translation' aspect of its communications.
